Be prepared to take a step back in time as soon as you open the door to the Van Buren Villa, situated about a seven-minute walk to the Westgate community. Furnished with an eye for the connoisseur of twentieth-century furniture, you will find this home to be classy and comfortable, at the same time. Descend one step from the rust swirled marble granite-entryway into a formal living room. Floored in maple hardwood, with needlepoint artwork from the late 1800’s, the living and dining rooms are filled with charming pieces of antique furnishings, from the floral-motif armoire displaying dainty porcelain tea sets to the scrolled-leg buffet with candle-reminiscent sconces above. The living room has a comfortable couch and matching love seat, with a coffee and side table to hold your reading material. The dining room seats up to ten on comfortable cushion-back and seat upholstered Louis XVI chairs, with two matching side chairs surrounding the buffet. Directly off the living room is a large eat-in kitchen. With its cheery silver-blue and white color palette, preparing meals will be a pleasant experience. A large center island plus an abundance of cabinets, large surface area of wraparound counters, and plenty of glass block to let in the natural light will make this the room where kids of all ages can gather round and watch the chef of the family prepare delicious fare for all. A separate kitchen table that seats six is a perfect working space for homework or some office work, when breakfast is done. An informal den, located to the other side of the entryway, has its own comfy leather couch and club chair, with a nearby closet filled to the brim with toys and games appropriate for both teens and tots alike. Down the hall you will find three bedrooms, all with luxe bedding. The master has two full-size beds with a large closet and dresser, and offers a spacious private bathroom with walk-in shower, large vanity, and seating bench. Two other bedrooms are equipped with two twin beds in one and a bunk bed with twin mattress on top and full on bottom. A guest bathroom is nearby and has a tub/shower combo, perfect for bathing the little ones. Off the kitchen through glass sliding doors, you will find yourself on a large wraparound deck. With plenty of built-in seating as well as lounge chairs, enjoying the view of the forest in the background is sure to be everyone’s favorite activity. The enormous private backyard accessed by stepping down from the deck is ideal for the children to spend Shabbos afternoons entertaining themselves while the parents watch from above. The Van Buren Villa is a stately home, comfortable and inviting, and is sure to be a place you will want to return to over and over again.
